Certification: American Council on Exercise (ACE)

Kathleen Caram is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She received her BA in Environmental Studies from St. Michaels College. In addition, she is also Certified in TRX Group Training and is also a TribeLIFE Team Coach.

Kathleen has been at Waverley Oaks since 2021 and has been in the fitness industry for over 25 years as both a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor in both land and water-based fitness. She can work with any age or ability level but has a passion for working with older exercisers, those new to exercise, those with injuries and limitations, people working through anxiety/depression and those with auto immune disease.

Balance and fall prevention are paramount to her work and she also uses land and water-based movement to get people ready for joint replacement surgeries as well as recovery post operation.  Kathleen loves working with horseback riders as well as swimmers on stroke technique and specific conditioning for swimming given her competitive background in swimming.  Her favorite exercise is walking as it can be done just about anywhere at any time and is very underrated as a means of physical activity. In her free time Kathleen likes to be outdoors either on the Cape or in Vermont, walking her two dogs and spending time with her family in the water boating, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Philosophy on Training: Kathleen truly believes that human movement is for EVERYONE. Of course, not every form or exercise or movement is meant for everyone, but she is committed to working with you to find out what you CAN do versus what you CANNOT do.  Our bodies and minds deserve the right to feel good if we put in the effort, and Kathleen will help create a plan with you. Whether it be land and/or water-based exercise, she will help you reach your goals while having some FUN along the way too!

“I am a senior citizen with two knee replacements, and a history of back pain and Type II diabetes. Kathleen coordinated with my physical therapist to develop three workouts that enabled me to build strength and eliminate my back pain without injuring my arthritic joints. The effects on my weight (down 30 pounds), blood sugar, energy level, and ability to walk without pain have me feeling better than I have felt in 30 years.” – Carolyn, Member Since 2012
