Meet Registered Dietitian, Jessica!

Meet Jessica – MS, RDN, LDN & Nutrition Counselor! Jessica Roy has been a part of the Waverley Oaks team as a Registered Dietitian since early 2019. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Tufts University and a Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition from Framingham State University. She decided to become a RD after working for three years as a research assistant in a biology laboratory studying the impact of food components in green tea and grapes on the slowed progression of human colon cancer tumor growth. Her research showed her firsthand the impact of food decisions on a cellular level, but she wanted to make an impact on a personal level, to benefit behavior change and health via nutritional choices.

With over 15 years of counseling experience, Jessica has worked with a diverse set of nutritional concerns, such as weight management, diabetes, heart disease, gastrointestinal concerns, and women’s health – just to name a few. Jessica prefers a mindful eating approach to help individuals achieve their wellness goals. She has a passion for helping people create a positive relationship with food and prefers sustainable lifestyle changes over temporary short-term diets to achieve optimal success.

In her free time, she can be found playing superheroes with her spunky three-year-old daughter, soccer and basketball with her budding eight-year-old son, and cooking family dinners with her amazingly calm husband (never fazed by the frisbee flying into family dinner). Her ultimate favorite activity is hiking and reaching her happy place on top of a mountain with her three favorite people!
