Spring Clean Your Routine

Spring Clean Your Routine

Spring is finally here, and with it comes the tradition of refreshing our spaces. From tidying up the yard to organizing closets, this season is all about renewal.

But why stop there? Spring is also the perfect time to reset your health and wellness routine. After a long winter, small changes can help you feel energized, balanced, and ready for the warmer days ahead.

Refresh Your Nutrition

  • Try something new. Spring produce like asparagus, arugula, cabbage, sweet peas, mushrooms, spinach, and radishes are in season. Mixing in new vegetables keeps meals exciting while boosting your intake of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Aim for 2 1/2 cups of vegetables daily.
  • Add fruit every day. Fruits are packed with fiber, antioxidants, and essential nutrients. Aim for 2 cups per day.
  • Choose whole grains. Swap refined grains for options like brown rice, farro, and buckwheat to stay fuller longer and support digestion.
  • Boost your fiber. Fiber helps regulate blood sugar, supports heart health, and keeps you satisfied. Aim for 25–35 grams daily.
  • Choose healthier fats. Limit saturated fats and opt for heart-healthy choices like olive oil, avocado oil, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish like salmon.
  • Stay hydrated. Water supports every function in your body. Add citrus slices for a refreshing twist and aim to make water your go-to beverage.

Refresh Your Routine

  • Move more. Track your steps and aim to increase them each week. Stay active for at least 30 minutes most days.
  • Get outside. Explore a new trail or take a walk in a different neighborhood – fresh air makes a difference.
  • Bring nature in. Plant a garden or brighten your space with fresh flowers.
  • Unplug more often. Cut back on screen time and create space for movement, rest, and connection.
  • Try something new. Explore a yoga class, breathwork session, or go for a bike ride.
  • Stay connected. Make time for friends and family – wellbeing goes beyond physical health.
