AMANDA VALLIMONT

Certification: National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)

Amanda Vallimont is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She received her BA in English from Binghamton University and her Masters in Theological Studies from The Weston Jesuit School of Theology. Amanda is also a Certified Yoga Instructor, Assisted Stretch Therapist as well as a Reiki Master. She has over 10 years’ experience in the fitness and wellness industry and has been at Waverley Oaks since 2023 teaching yoga classes, MX4 as well as personal training.

Amanda enjoys working with anyone regardless of age or experience looking for everyday functional strength and movement improvements, increased flexibility/mobility, better balance/stability, weight loss and mental health relief. In her training with clients, she relies initially on correctional functional movement patterns to build a solid foundation for whatever goals her clients may have before moving onto focused strength training with free weights, bands, balls, TRX and good old fashioned body weight exercises.

Her favorite exercise is the goblet squat because of its effectiveness, application to everyday movements and accessibility to a greater number of people – especially those who may have some injuries/limitations or mobility challenges that limit the ability to do traditional barbell back squats.

AMANDA’S PHILOSOPHY ON TRAINING

Amanda believes that personal training is far more than sets and reps – it’s a path toward strength, self-awareness, and a life lived with greater intention. In training sessions, Amanda blends challenge with compassion. Clients are encouraged to meet themselves where they are, listen to their bodies, and move with purpose. Workouts are crafted to be both grounding and empowering, mixing strength work with mindful awareness so each person can tap into their own inner drive. The goal is not just to get stronger – it’s to feel more alive, more aligned, and more capable in everyday life.

TESTIMONIALS

I was interested in working with Amanda for strength training because of her background in a holistic approach to wellness. This aligned well with my goals of trying to improve general well-being and self esteem through weight training. I found Amanda’s emphasis on consistency and showing up rather than trying to push a higher amount of weight or more reps particularly useful, as this has led to a better mentality towards training and a more sustainable routine. The results of training with Amanda have exceeded my expectations. Many of my friends and colleagues have made comments about the change in my appearance, and I generally feel stronger, more capable, and less fatigued going about my day. I thoroughly enjoy working with Amanda and the training sessions together are often a highlight of the week! – Dylan

I started training with Amanda after “graduating” from physical therapy following my knee replacement surgery. I love my new knee! But my other knee was still giving me trouble, even after PT. It looked like surgery was only a matter of time, with cortisone shots just to get by. Amanda picked up where PT left off, and then took it to the next level. Twenty-five-pound goblet squats and plenty of other strengthening work later, my “old” knee is behaving itself again. I just enjoyed a fully functional summer vacation without it holding me back. If this means I can postpone – or even avoid – another knee surgery, you can imagine how thrilled I am. Amanda has made a remarkable difference in my quality of life. – Jon G.

I’ve been taking Amanda’s yoga class for quite a while, so when she mentioned that she was becoming a personal trainer, the timing couldn’t have been better. I had been looking to transition from free weights and machines to resistance band workouts, so I signed up for training sessions with her. Amanda took the bull by the bands and designed several workout routines for me, each featuring a variety of exercises to keep things interesting. She also provided links to videos demonstrating every exercise, which made it easy to revisit them on my own. Throughout the process, Amanda was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Today, I rotate through a couple of resistance band workouts each week, genuinely enjoy them, and am seeing results. Amanda has absolutely earned a five-star review from me. Thank you for having such talented, knowledgeable, and dedicated professionals on your team! – Larry

As a member of Waverley Oaks since 2018, I enjoyed taking yoga classes twice a week with a teacher I really liked. When she relocated, another member recommended Amanda, and it took just one class for me to know I had found my match. Her classes have been life-changing. They are physically challenging, emotionally supportive, and accessible to a wide range of participants. In addition to being a skilled yoga teacher, Amanda is personable and has a wonderful sense of humor. When Amanda announced she would be offering personal training and Reiki sessions at the club, I knew she could provide the help I needed. My fitness level had declined over the past couple of years due to some physical issues, and once those were medically addressed, I was ready to rebuild my strength and improve my overall fitness. After just five training sessions with Amanda, I have already gained strength, flexibility, and a clear path forward toward my fitness goals. For Amanda, this is not just a job – it’s a vocation. That is what makes her such an exceptional teacher and trainer. – Maggie
