AMY COOK

Certification: American Council on Exercise (ACE)

Amy Cook is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is also an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Certified Group Fitness Instructor. She received her B.S in Accounting from Bentley University.

Amy has been teaching group exercise for over 40 years, and she has been at Waverley Oaks teaching for over 10 years. She teaches on land (BODYPUMP and Cycle) as well as Water Aerobics in the pool.

In 2023, after being laid off from her corporate job, Amy saw it as a silver lining and decided to pursue her longtime dream of becoming a Personal Trainer. She enjoys working with all ages and ability levels but has a particular passion for working with those new to exercise, deconditioned individuals, older exercisers and runners.

Her favorite exercise is trail running. Amy loves Mother Nature and when it comes to running, she wants to be in the woods! Though a road runner, her love is on the many trails that we are so lucky to have here in New England. Besides the cardio benefit of running, she really enjoys the stress relief and mind reset that running provides her with. Of course, with her passion for running also comes her love for strength training to help support injury-free running and feeling strong as an empowered woman.

In her free time Amy enjoys hiking, cycling, yoga, running and traveling. She also enjoys exploring New England (especially Cape Cod) and visiting coffee shops and microbreweries. Her quiet time activities include baking, knitting and stitchery.
