Welcome to the Waverley Oaks Athletic Club information portal
A Note From The Management Team
We are incredibly thankful to be able to provide our Community with a place to enjoy the mental and physical benefits that exercise can bring to your life. We are grateful for the ongoing support from both members and staff as we all worked together to ensure the safety and health of our Waverley Oaks Community.
The efforts to keep our Club clean and safe for everyone are continuous and a joint effort between the Staff and Members.
- Members will be allowed the choice of being “mask optional” when using the club. For those who choose to continue to wear a mask while exercising, this will be accepted and understood by all. You should do whatever feels comfortable as it relates to your health.
- Wiping down of equipment by members is still required. Keeping the equipment clean and sanitary within the Club is a top priority. Be a considerate member of our community and continue to wipe down your equipment after use. You would like to know the equipment is clean when you start using it so please ensure that is the case for everyone else.
- If you have any symptoms of illness or have been around someone who is sick, you should stay home and away from others. Taking a day off to rest is just as important for your health as a workout when you are not feeling your best.
In addition to our health and safety protocols, please take a moment to review some of our guidelines and code of conduct requirements for each area of the Club below. Thank you for being a part of our Waverley Oaks Community. It is our pleasure to serve you!
Adam Healy – General Manager

Fitness Center Guidelines
We want your experience in our Exercise Centers to be a positive one. Here are a couple of reminders of common etiquette practices in a fitness center occupied by multiple members.
- Please limit cell phone use when in the exercise areas and refrain from using your cell phones while seated on a piece of exercise equipment. When you need to look at your phone, please exit the equipment until you are ready to resume your exercise.
- If members would like to use of the piece of equipment you are on, please alternate exercise sets so that during your rest period another member can be actively using that piece of equipment. Members are not entitled to do “super sets” on equipment where they do not allow others to participate until they are finished.
- Return all equipment to the proper locations and remove your weight plates from the equipment when you are finished. There is storage available for all items to maximize our space and it is courteous to return your workout station back to its original configuration.

Pool Guidelines
- ALL LAP SWIM RESERVATIONS ARE 40 MINUTES WITH A 5-MINUTE TRANSITION TIME (THIS IS THE TOTAL OF THE 45 MINUTE BOOKING). TO ENSURE A SMOOTH TRANSITION BETWEEN GROUPS, IT IS ESSENTIAL (AND REQUIRED) THAT YOU DO NOT ENTER THE POOL AREA UNTIL YOUR SCHEDULED POOL TIME. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THE OTHER MEMBERS AND ALLOW THEM TO VACATE THE POOL ENTIRELY BEFORE THE NEXT GROUP ENTERS.
- THE ONLINE AND APP RESERVATION SYSTEMS WILL ALLOW FOR BOOKINGS THAT DAY PLUS 4 DAYS IN ADVANCE. RESERVATIONS MADE THROUGH THE ONLINE AND MOBILE APP SYSTEM WILL BEGIN AT 5AM TO CORRESPOND WITH THE CLUB OPENING AT 5AM. AS AN EXAMPLE, AT 5AM SATURDAY MORNING ALL AVAILABLE TIMES SATURDAY-WEDNESDAY WILL BE OPEN FOR RESERVATION ONLINE AND THROUGH THE APP, AS WELL AS OVER THE PHONE AND IN-PERSON.
- MEMBERS WILL BE ABLE TO RESERVE POOL LANE TIME IN ADVANCE NO MORE THAN TWICE PER 4 DAY ADVANCED BOOKING PERIOD. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN THE RESERVATIONS FOR MONDAY-THURSDAY OPEN ON SUNDAY, A MEMBER MAY RESERVE UP TO 2 RESERVATIONS IN THAT MONDAY -THURSDAY PERIOD. IT NO LONGER NEEDS TO BE EVERY OTHER DAY. A MEMBER MAY SWIM ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY PROVIDED THEY HAVE NO RESERVATIONS ON MONDAY OR THURSDAY.
- MEMBERS MAY NOW BOOK “SAME DAY RESERVATIONS” THROUGH THE ONLINE AND MOBILE APP SYSTEM. IF YOU PREFER, YOU CAN STILL CALL INTO THE CLUB AND MAKE A “SAME DAY RESERVATION”. SPOTS WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS.
Water Fitness & Family Swim Booking:
- RESERVATIONS FOR H2O FITNESS CLASSES MAY BE BOOKED UP TO 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE, MAXIMUM 20 PARTICIPANTS, $10 FEE PER CLASS OR A PACKAGE OF 4 CLASSES FOR $30.
- RESERVATIONS FOR HYDRO BLAST CLASSES MAY BE BOOKED UP TO 72-HOURS IN ADVANCE, MAXIMUM 35 PARTICIPANTS, THESE CLASSES ARE INCLUDED WITH YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES.
- RESERVATIONS FOR FAMILY SWIM MAY BE BOOKED UP TO 72-HOURS IN ADVANCE, MAXIMUM 10 FAMILIES. FAMILY SWIM TIME IS INTENDED FOR PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN TO USE THE POOL TOGETHER. ONLY ONE FAMILY MEMBER NEEDS TO RESERVE A SPOT FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY.
Pool Lane Policies & Protocols:
- EACH LANE WILL HAVE A SET DESIGNATION. LANES 1-3 HAVE 2 AVAILABLE SPOTS PER LANE. LANE 4 IS A SINGLE USE LANE. LANE 1 WILL BE THE LANE CLOSEST TO ENTRY INTO THE POOL, LANE 4 WILL BE THE LANE CLOSEST TO THE WINDOWS.
- THE LANE YOU REGISTER FOR WILL BE THE LANE YOU NEED TO SWIM IN. NOT ALL LANES WILL HAVE BOTH SPOTS BOOKED AT ALL TIMES. YOU SHOULD VERIFY WHAT LANE YOU ARE ASSIGNED WHEN YOU CHECK-IN AT THE DESK TO SIMPLIFY THE PROCESS AT THE POOL.
- WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE MEMBERS FROM THE SAME HOUSEHOLD TO SHARE A POOL LANE. FAMILY MEMBERS SHOULD TRY TO BOOK BOTH THE “A” AND “B” SPOTS OF THE SAME LANE IF SWIMMING AT THE SAME TIME.
- FOR MEMBERS WHO USE THE POOL FOR EXERCISE PURPOSES (RATHER THAN SWIMMING) WE ADVISE THAT YOU RESERVE LANE 1 IF AVAILABLE. THAT LANE PROVIDES ADDITIONAL ROOM FOR BOTH A SWIMMER AND AN EXERCISER TO HAVE PLENTY OF SPACE.
- PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL TO OTHER MEMBERS AND CANCEL ANY RESERVATIONS YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO COME IN FOR. FREQUENTLY MEMBERS CALL FOR LAST MINUTE RESERVATIONS AND YOUR CANCELLATION EVEN ON SHORT NOTICE ALLOWS THAT TO HAPPEN. Members who “no show” for their pool reservation will be charged a $5 fee.

Steam Room & Sauna Guidelines
We are happy that our membership packages here at Waverley Oaks include the use of amenities like the steam room and sauna. These facilities can have a range of benefits such as:
- Improving skin health
- Lowering blood pressure
- Improving circulation
- Workout recovery
- Relaxation
- Lowering joint stiffness
However, steam room and sauna facilities are not for everyone. Studies conducted by Web MD and Medical News Today have outlined a variety of situations where you need to consult with your physician prior to using these amenities:
- Low blood pressure
- Coronary artery disease
- History of a stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA)
- Heart rhythm problems
- Pregnancy
- Epilepsy
- While taking antibiotics
In addition, there are certain safety measures you should take while using the steam room.
- Set Time Limits: First-time users should spend a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes. As you get used to the heat, you can slowly increase the time to about 10-20 minutes. It is never advisable to spend more than 20 minutes in a steam room or sauna.
- Drink Plenty of Water: Due to the heat, there is a risk of dehydrating the body. Members should drink plenty of water prior to use and after use to replace the fluids lost from sweating.
- If you feel dizzy, have trouble breathing, or have tightness in your chest, exit right away.
- Avoid Rapid Temperature Change: Switching between the heat of a steam room or sauna to the cold water of a shower or pool is not advisable, as it can rapidly raise blood pressure.
- Do not drink alcohol.
- Do not use while you are sick.
- Adult use only (ages 16+)
These precautions are independent of age and fitness level. Even young healthy adults can have a traumatic incident after using the steam room or sauna if these rules are not followed.
Steam Room & Sauna Code of Conduct Reminders
There are a few rules of etiquette that will ensure the experience is enjoyed by everyone sharing these spaces.
- Towel for draping and sitting – You can wrap yourself in a towel and use it to sit on. Make sure the towel is always between you and the surfaces.
- Shower before you come in – Shower off after your workout prior to entering the sauna or steam room. Your fellow members will appreciate a clean environment.
- Close the door – Please do not hold the door open for the person behind you as it will take additional time to heat the room up to temperature again.
- Shaving/Grooming – Shaving is not acceptable in the steam room and sauna.
- Cell Phones Prohibited – There is no cell phone use anywhere within the locker rooms and this includes the steam room and sauna.
- Conversation – These rooms are meant to be calm, quiet, and relaxing. Any conversation should be kept to a minimum, and not forced upon any unwilling recipient.
- Clothes – If you feel more comfortable wearing clothing it needs to be clean prior to entry, not your workout attire. Dry bathing suits are an acceptable option. Street shoes are not permitted in the steam room and sauna.
- No pouring water on the rocks – Our saunas are electric dry saunas. Water getting into the heating element is a fire risk and can damage the heater to where the sauna will be unavailable for an extended period of time.
- Refrain from using oils or fragrances – There are members who have an allergy or sensitivity to certain aromas, so no oils or fragrances are permitted in the steam room or sauna. Many of these oils are also not designed to be in a high temperature environment and could have ill effects for all.
- The steam room and Sauna will close 15 minutes prior to the general club closing time to begin nightly cleaning procedures.
