NEWTON TURKEY TROT

The USATF Certified 5K run is a beautiful out and back course that leads you through Newton neighborhoods, onto the Commonwealth Avenue carriage lane to Newton City Hall and loops back to end at Zervas Elementary School.

This year the Newton Turkey Trot will be raising money for both the Newton Food Pantry and Travis Roy Foundation’s Ethan Wang Fund.


Mystic Runners Santa Dash Classic

Sign up now for the third annual Mystic Runners Santa Dash Classic! The course is flat and fast around beautiful Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, MA and perfect for any athlete.

All proceeds from our race will be given as scholarships to local high school seniors! Our 2023 Santa Dash Classic helped award three $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors from Wakefield, Woburn and Stoneham.

OPEN HOUSE

Learn more about homelessness and what YOU can do to help. You’re invited to an Open House at Community Day Center of Waltham on Thursday, Nov. 21st from 6-8pm.

Tour the facilities, enjoy refreshments and make blankets for the guests. A $25 donation is suggested.


Author Talk and Book Signing

In this inspiring memoir, Jennifer Crystal shares her intimate and heartbreaking journey through chronic illness that began after unknowingly getting a tick bite while working as a camp counselor in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

A MUST ATTEND EVENT for anyone who enjoys spending time in nature, and also for anyone who is searching for hope while struggling with chronic illness. 10% of the proceeds from her memoir will be donated to Global Lyme Alliance.

This event will take place at Waldorf School of Lexington on Thursday, November 21st at 7:00pm.


PIGGY RACE & FUNDRAISER

Piggy’s 5k is in loving memory of Paul (Piggy) Logue – born, raised and a lifelong resident of Waltham. Paul loved the Waltham community, and every year Piggy’s 5k raises money and gives back to the community through the Paul Logue Charitable Fund.

The 5k kicks off at City Streets Restaurant at 1pm. A post-race party will be held at City Streets immediately following the award ceremony.

This course has some inclines 3.1 miles (5K). The course is paved, therefore strollers or baby joggers are allowed on the course. Runners and walkers welcome! Register & learn more.


AFRICAN photo exhibition

Join us for a Photo Exhibition with light refreshments at the Betty Meyer Art Gallery at United Parish of Auburndale on Saturday, Nov. 23rd from 2:30 – 4:30pm. Proceeds will benefit the The Bushcamp Company.

COMMUNITY DAY CENTER OF WALTHAM

Support the Dinner for the Community Day Center Night Program!

The Community Day Center is open for overnight stays this winter, 7 days a week from 7 PM to 7 AM, beginning December 1st. Your donation will help provide a warm evening meal for our unhoused neighbors.
