2024 Boston 5K Spring & Summer Series

MAY 16 – SEPT 19

Sign up now for Race Cancer Foundation’s spring and summer race series taking place on eight Thursday evenings starting May through September.

All races are held at the American Legion Marsh Post #442 in Cambridge, MA, and run on paths along the Charles River. Each event will include a post-race party at the Marsh Post with beer generously provided by Mighty Squirrel. 100% of the event proceeds go to charity, including a portion to the American Legion Marsh Post. RACE Cancer Foundation’s Boston 5K Summer Series also provides funding for the Sunscreen Squad, bringing free sunscreen to outdoor events across Massachusetts.


FitzGerald Elementary Fitzy 5k

MAY 30

Kick off the summer at FitzGerald Elementary School’s 6th Annual Fitzy 5k Fun Run/Walk! Friends and families from all over Waltham and our neighboring communities join this fundraiser every year. Funds raised from this popular neighborhood event help FitzGerald’s Parent-Teacher Organization support enrichment programming, field trips, author visits, community events, and more for over 400 children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. After the race, stay for ice cold treats and family games.


Against the Tide

JUNE 8 & 15

Join Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) in 2024 and swim, run, or walk to support breast cancer prevention! MBCC will host its special 25th Anniversary Cape Cod Against the Tide event at DCR’s Nickerson State Park (the new Fisherman’s Landing location at Cliff Pond) on Saturday, June 8th, 2024 in Brewster, MA. The weekend after, join MBCC at DCR’s Hopkinton State Park on Saturday, June 15th for Against the Tide’s 32nd year!

Join us as we celebrate our incredible community of members (and staff)! Stop by the the club from 11:30am – 12:30pm or 4pm – 6pm for ice cream on us!

BLOOD DRIVE

JUNE 5

Save a life by donating blood with The Kraft Family Blood Donor Center. The Bloodmobile will be visiting 465 Waverley Oaks Road on June 5th from 10am – 4:30pm. Click here to make an appointment at the Bloodmobile.

Note that all blood donors MUST meet Massachusetts General Hospital’s eligibility requirements to donate whole blood, platelets or red blood cells. Click here to view eligibility guidelines and click here to view frequently asked questions.

After donating blood, donors will need to take certain precautions to help their body recover. This includes NOT working out directly after donating blood. Please wait for 4 hours before lifting anything heavy or exercising and make sure you are drinking plenty of water BEFORE and AFTER donation.

Take a trip back to the 60’s & 70’s! Everyone will receive a special tie dye t-shirt for donating.
