JOANNE SCOULER
Certification: National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
Joanne Scouler is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She received her BA in Humanities from McGill University. She is also Certified in Aquatic Fitness, Group Fitness, Pilates and Lifeguarding as well as being a Certified Nursing Assistant. Joanne has over 25 years’ experience in the fitness and wellness industry and has been at Waverley Oaks since 2020.
Joanne enjoys working with clients of all ages and abilities. She is comfortable working with people who are deconditioned or those who can improve their exercise results with external accountability, coaching, care, and motivation but can also help the already conditioned exerciser see even more progress. With an emphasis on functional movement and compound exercises, Joanne always has her clients’ best interests and goals as her roadmap for training. She also enjoys those clients looking for improvements in athletic performance-especially in the sports of swimming, golf, lacrosse, skiing and hockey.
In her sessions, Joanne is malleable to the clients’ needs and likes in terms of equipment selection and she loves to help her clients find a balance of cross training on both land and in the water. Her favorite exercises involve working out in the water because you can build strength, improve mobility and flexibility, increase power/endurance, reduce the risk of injury and to her ANY exercise someone does that includes music and dance is truly exhilarating. In her free time Joanne enjoys working in her yard, gardening, snow removal, traveling around New England, cooking, shopping as well as socializing with friends and family.

As an athlete her entire life, Joanne has always been passionate about team sports because she believes the strength of a team far outweighs going it alone. There is power, motivation, and accountability in working together toward a shared goal. Joanne brings that same mindset to personal training, viewing it as a team effort where the two of you work together to build a plan, stay committed, and achieve your fitness goals.
