JUSTINE ROULEAU

Certification: National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)

Justine Rouleau is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She received her BS in Marine Biology from the University of California-Santa Cruz.

A lifelong athlete, Justine played ultimate frisbee in college and now competes in flag football. Her passion for movement drives her to work with clients of all backgrounds whether it’s helping athletes improve performance and prevent injuries, or supporting beginners just stepping into the gym. She especially enjoys guiding those who feel unsure of where to start, remembering how much she wished for that kind of help when she began.

Justine also finds inspiration in older adults, like her grandmother, who prioritize staying strong, independent, and active at every age. She hopes to be a safe space for those with intellectual/developmental disabilities, and truly wants to help anyone and welcomes everyBODY with open arms.

Her  favorite exercise is the pull-up (with the dragon flag a close second) because of the practice and consistency needed to develop the proper mind-body connection to complete the movements. She also loves the various levels of progression that can be done to eventually complete a full-body weight pull-up. Justine believes that movement builds more than just muscles: it cultivates mental and physical strength. She hopes to help her clients reach that same sense of empowerment, if that’s what they’re after.

Outside of work, you’ll find her mountain biking, hiking, camping, or playing in local sports leagues. And when the weather turns, she’s just as happy curled up with a good book or movie.

Justine’s Philosophy on Training: I truly believe that fitness comes from practice, just like mastering any other skill in life. Every minute that you spend in the gym and outside of the gym is practice. Fitness looks different for everybody, and everyone is practicing something different. As your trainer, I will listen to discover what you wish to accomplish, establish a baseline of where you are, and then work on practicing movements and behaviors that will get you to your goals.

During these sessions, we may discover other areas or other things you find you may want to work on as well. I truly believe in finding the right balance in everything we do in life. Don’t just train for special events, train for life. Life is your biggest challenge, train to beat any obstacles life throws at you.
